Testing Solutions for Molded Case Circuit Breakers (for testing as per IEC 60947, UL 489 & others)

MCCB Overload Trip Verification Test Bench (As per IEC 60947-2)

This is a dedicated circuit breaker testing equipment for verification of overload tripping as per IEC 60947-2 clause 8.3.3 and custom production requirements. The system comes with TestWareTM for automated testing of MCCBs where thermal curves with current as well as temperature rise can be plotted on a PC. The test jig is flexible as well as custom built such that it accommodates a range of MCCBs of a particular manufacturer.

The number of testing stations can be 1, 2, 3 or 4 depending upon the throughput required by the manufacturer. Even a 4 station bench can be controlled with a single PC running TestWareTM operated by one operator, giving a high return of cost ratio.

The system is usable by even a semi-skilled operator, because of TestWareTM that includes storage of test parameters, MCCB ratings, & supervisor settings along with automated test sequence, safety precautions & report generation. Test and compliance parameters can be edited and stored against a particular model such that when the MCCB model is chosen, all test parameters get adjusted accordingly. The data can be exported for statistical analysis. TestWareTM is further customised as per the requirement of manufacturer.

Short-circuit Trip Test Bench for Molded Case Circuit Breaker (MCCB)

This is a dedicated circuit breaker testing equipment to test MCCB instantaneous tripping (also known as Short Circuit or Magnetic tripping) as per IEC 60947-2 clause 8.3.3 and custom based requirements. A speciality of the system is that it includes differently designed systems for two different current ranges (Smaller range for currents ( 2000 A and higher range for currents ) 2000 A) thus ensuring equal reliability, accuracy and regulation for both low current and higher current MCCBs. Specially designed custom built jigs are able to accommodate different types of MCCBs enabling the user to test all kinds of Moulded Case Circuit Breakers on a single test bench. In addition, the system can be made such that it covers the entire range of MCCBs for production floors producing all ratings of MCCBs on a single line.

A unique feature of the test system along with the in-built TestWareTM is that the user can debug / diagnose for any improper contact ON / failure of internal switching inside the panel by logging in to the debug mode of the software, making panel diagnostics easier than conventional systems.

MCCB Audit Test Bench with Temperature Chamber (testing procedure as per IEC 60947-2)

This is a hybrid 3 station-bench to test MCCB thermal tripping characteristics as per IEC 60947-2 clause 6.3.3 and custom based requirements at a controlled temperature (that can be set) adding another compliance parameter to the list. The test terminals are such that different types of circuit breakers can be mounted on the test-stand.

The system comes with customisable TestWareTM that assists with automated testing as per IEC 60947-2, storage of test parameters & results, and other features built as per the requirements of test engineers & researchers. The curves are plotted on the PC based TestWareTM.

In addition, the test bench incorporates micro-controller based timer wherein the user can program a desired time current sequence for a test cycle and also the number of test cycles for trip test.

The product is optimized to include thermal overload current testing in a temperature chamber at a lesser cost thus making it ideal for manufacturers & quality engineers who require to compare tripping characteristics of circuit breakers at a desired temperature at different overload currents.

MCCB Research and Development Bench (testing procedure as per IEC 60947-2)

This is a hybrid bench to integrate MCCB instantaneous tripping as well as overload tripping as per IEC 60947-2 clause 6.3.3 and custom test requirements. The system comes with TestWareTM making testing of MCCBs complete where thermal curves with can be plotted on a PC. The test jig is flexible such that different MCCBs can be tested and compared for their performance.

Test system comes along with the in-built PC based software: TestwareTM. Temperature Rise Test Bench

This is a simple bench for measurement of temperature rise and check if the temperature rise is within the allowable limits of applicable standard. The bench integrates a programmable servo controlled voltage-regulated constant current source that gives a continuous range of current values. The bench simultaneously displays the temperature reading of the connected parts. A multi channel display of temperature is possible and the user can customize the number of stations. In short, this is a simple bench with customized current source and a temperature measurement and display facility without data logging mode.

Temperature Rise Test Bench with Data-Logging (Embedded Data-logger)

This is a micro controller based bench featuring low voltage high current source for temperature rise testing as per custom requirements. The system integrates a servo controlled constant voltage source with closed loop current feedback with a motorized variac to maintain the current constant. The data logger displays as well as stores a set of temperature values with time. In addition, the user may opt for micro controller based timer for pre programmable current duties for customizing on & off time. The product is optimized to include custom made constant voltage modules at a lesser cost thus making it ideally suitable for manufacturers / test lab engineers willing to do research and development on the product as far temperature rise measurement at a pre decided current is concerned.

PC Based Temperature Rise Bench

PC based Temperature Rise Test
   
Multi-Test Bench for MCCB (including Temperature Rise Bench as per IEC 60947)

This is a multi-test bench to integrate MCCB over current tripping as well as temperature rise testing as per IEC 60947 and user specifications. Temperature rise test & measurement module helps monitor the temperature rise in various parts of the system in rated current as well as over-current mode. The system comes with TestWareTM making testing of Circuit Breakers complete where thermal curves with current as well as temperature rise can be plotted on a PC. The test jig is flexible such that different circuit breakers can be tested and compared for their performance. The bench integrates temperature data logger system with both on-bench and ON-PC online display of temperatures.

Over-current test modules include overload trip verification & short-circuit trip verification at low (convenient) voltages. The over-current trip test module is high current source of continuous duty while the short-circuit trip test module is a short-time high current source. These modules with TestWare™ caters to testing as per clause 8.3.3.1.1 & 8.3.3.1.2 of IEC 60947-2 & user defined current settings.
